Spring bird walk on the Pumpkinvine Trail

Elkhart County Parks

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Parks invites members of the community to celebrate the arrival of spring with a Wednesday Bird Walk on April 1 from 8 to 10 a.m. This guided walk offers participants the chance to observe birds reconnect with nature along the scenic Pumpkinvine Nature Trail.

"Life’s messy in a lot of different ways and it’s easy to kind of get stuck in your own head,” said Annie Aguirre, program coordinator. “That’s why I love birding. It’s a chance to zoom out from whatever’s going on and causing you stress by shifting your focus to nature.”

The walk is free and open to ages 8+ with no registration required. All birding experience levels are welcome. The event will be held rain or shine, and guests should dress for the weather and plan for extended time outdoors. Binoculars will also be available for use.

Meet at the Abshire Park trailhead, located at 1302 E. Lincoln Ave. in Goshen.

The Elkhart County Parks offers themed bird walks on the first Wednesday of every month starting at 8 a.m.
