SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Health Department sprayed parts of South Bend on Thursday as a preventative measure against West Nile Virus.

Parts of Penn Township, including Birch Road, McKinley Avenue, Beech Road and Apple Road near Edison, Jefferson Boulevard, Buckeye and Cedar Roads, were sprayed on Tuesday.

Thursday's locations included:

• Southeast South Bend - Lincolnway, Logan Street, Ireland Road, Miami Street
• Eastern South Bend -McKinley Avenue, Logan Street, St. Joseph River, Eddy Street
• Central South Bend - Vassar Avenue, Riverside Drive, Michigan Street, Western Avenue, Olive Street
