St. Jude Radiothon happening Thursday and Friday on B100

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Local radio station B100 held its 29th Annual St. Jude Radiothon on Thursday, which will continue Friday, March 14.
"We're so incredibly grateful for each and every person who has donated. We've had opportunities throughout the year for those to donate," said B100 Radio Host Brittney Bailey.
"We've had creative ways that schools have come together, and it's so exciting to see the community really rallying behind this and being just as passionate as we are to help find these cures and help that research being funded."
The radiothon is running from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day.
"Every year we get together, we raise money for St Jude Children's Research Hospital for cancer research and studies to prevent childhood catastrophic diseases. And we do that every year, 29 years now," said B100 Program Director Jesse Garcia.
"St Jude, they do so many things, wonderful things for kids dealing with cancer and the families as well. In fact, no family receives a bill for treatment or for housing or food, any medical bills whatsoever. It's all taken care of, and that's because of the wonderful donations throughout Michiana coming through as a partner and home."
There are multiple ways to donate during the radiothon:
- CALL: Dial 800-779-5121 to make your contribution over the phone.
- DONATE ONLINE: Visit www.b100.com to securely donate online.
- TEXT: Simply text "HOPE" to 626262 and follow the link from St. Jude to complete your donation. By texting, you'll also receive regular reminders from St. Jude to ensure your donation is completed.
"There's no price on hope, and the fact that so many parents walk into St Jude feeling hopeless and then walk out with a child who's been cured from cancer, and to know that they have that hope," said Bailey. "It's truly a blessing and an honor to stand behind St Jude and a privilege that we are able to do this. I feel like this radio platform; this is the opportunity that we have to make change together.
"This event serves as a beacon of hope, rallying the Michiana community in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Every dollar ... every dollar donated during the radiothon directly benefits St. Jude, ensuring that families facing childhood cancer and other catastrophic illnesses can focus solely on their child's recovery. With your generous contributions, families are relieved of the financial burden of medical expenses, travel costs, housing, and food, enabling them to devote their energies to nurturing their children back to health."
