Saint Mary's College hosts workshop on sexual harassment in the workplace
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Sexual harassment in the workplace is a pervasive problem that can cause enduring psychological harm.
Saint Mary's College, along with its Women's Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI) and the City of South Bend, will host three workshops this spring for professionals in the South Bend region to expand the conversation about the effects of sexual harassment in the workplace.
As employees speak out about unwanted advances or inappropriate behavior, and employers respond with more training, policies, and disciplinary action following misconduct complaints, Saint Mary's seeks to strengthen individual's voices in the workplace and provide tools that will improve workplace culture and empower all people to thrive in a safe, professional environment.
"This is an important moment. Victims of workplace sexual harassment are making their voices heard and employers are striving to improve the professional environment," Saint Mary's College President Jan Cervelli said. "These workshops will help individuals and organizations be proactive in developing policies that prevent harassment, establishing investigative processes that foster just outcomes, and showing empathy for victims."
Designed for professionals at all levels of seniority and experience, the workshop schedule is as follows:
- Leading by Example: The Impact of Change - Monday, March 26, 11:45 a.m. - 1:45 p.m. in Rice Commons, Student Center, Saint Mary's College
