Standoff in Nappanee ends with arrest

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department SWAT and Bomb unit, along with Nappanee Police were involved in a standoff with a subject Friday afternoon.
The standoff happened at the corner of Jackson Street and a housing complex on Stonewall Court, according to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.
The person involved in the standoff was taken into custody around 5 p.m.
The subject was treated for exposure to a chemical irritant.
