Starke County Commissioners approve 12-month moratorium on hyperscale data centers

STARKE COUNTY, Ind. -- On Monday morning, Starke County Commissioners unanimously approved a 12-month moratorium for hyperscale data center developments.

The decision comes after a favorable recommendation from the plan commission and a public hearing on the topic.

The moratorium includes the "acceptance, processing, or approval of any building permits, improvement location permits, or site plan applications for Hyperscale Data Center Projects within the unincorporated areas of Starke County."
