Sturgis Police Officer investigated for driving while intoxicated

A Sturgis Police Officer is on paid leave after the Police Department was informed the officer was involved in an accident that happened October 26th.
The officer informed officials he/she was being investigated for driving while intoxicated and that a blood test had been done at the hospital by Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department.
The officer is currently on paid-administrative leave pending any charges related to the criminal investigation.
The Sturgis Police Department says the officer is facing an internal investigation and that the officer has been cooperative.
