Temperatures soared into the 80s across Michiana Monday, the warmest temperatures the area has experienced in more than two weeks.
The summer-like weather allowed some to get their first taste of local pools and splash pads of the season.
So, will June 2025 bring more hot temperatures, or will the cool weather that ended May return for an extended stay?
While highs will make a run at 90 degrees in South Bend on Tuesday, most of our temperatures for the first half of June will be near or below normal, according to the latest outlook from NOAA's Climate Prediction Center.
The outlook has some good news for farmers and our local drought situation, too: above-normal rainfall is favored, especially by the end of next week.
The increase in shower and storm chances will likely keep temperatures down. There are some hints that a bigger warm-up could be coming for the second half of June.
