Sunburst Races 2024 raising funds for Beacon Children's Hospital

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The 2024 Sunburst Races are happening on Saturday, June 1, with proceeds benefiting Beacon Children's Hospital.

Sunburst is a community event celebrating its 40th year.

Race organizers say the event brings together many of the same participants and volunteers year after year.

The half marathon starts at 7 a.m., and officials say pacers are provided.

You can register here as an individual or team for the half marathon, 10K run, 5K run, and the untimed 5K fitness walk.

All events will start and finish at the Century Center in downtown South Bend on the Jefferson Boulevard Bridge.

Sunburst officials say its new venue allows for a post-race experience, including activities and celebrations tailored for adults and families.

Officials add due to safety concerns, no strollers, joggers, wagons, baby carriers, etc. are allowed in the half marathon. The minimum age of participation is at least 10 years of age on race day.

Sunburst offers packet pickup on Friday, May 31, at the Century Center from noon to 7 p.m.

Participants can pick up their shirts and bibs before they lace up for Saturday races.

The deadline to register is 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 1.
