Suspect arrested, charged in shots fired incident at South Bend gas station
St. Joseph County Jail: Jamir Johnson SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department reports an arrest has been made in connection with a shots fired incident on March 20 at a gas station in the 1900 block of S. Miami Street.
Police say the incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. that day.
Officers arrived to find property damage and several spent casings. There were no reported injuries.
The investigation identified 22-year-old Jamir Johnson as a suspect.
On March 27, the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office charged Johnson with Criminal Recklessness committed with a Deadly Weapon.
At that time, Johnson was not in custody.
Johnson turned himself in on Monday morning at SBPD before being taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
The case remains under investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit.
