Suspect arrested in Elkhart shooting on Hiawatha Drive

ELKHART, Ind. - Elkhart Police Department detectives arrested 29-year-old Navneet Singh, for attempted murder in connection with a shooting in the 800 block of Hiawatha Drive on Thursday.
Police say he allegedly shot a yet-to-be-named 31-year-old woman before allegedly shooting himself.
Officers transported Singh to the Elkhart County Jail where he was booked.
The arrest has been submitted to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of formal criminal charges.
Officials state, the female victim is in stable condition and is expected to survive.
