SOUTH BEND, Ind.—After numerous community complaints about drugs, the South Bend Police Department searched a home in the 200 block of North Edison Avenue on Monday.
After conducting a search of the home, officers collected phones, cash, a handgun, drug manufacturing items, and approximately 90 grams of cocaine.
A helicopter from the National Guard was used during the search.
Police arrested Christopher Johnson, who is being held at St. Joseph County Jail with no bond, for preliminary charges of dealing in methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.
The search was a result of a three week investigation by the southwest patrol officers with assistance from SBPD SWAT Team, Strategic Focus Unit, Investigative Bureau, St. Joseph County Drug Investigation Unit, and the National Guard Anti-Drug Task Force.
