Suspect in Pierceton robbery apprehended
PIERCETON, Ind.—The Pierceton Police Department apprehended a suspect wanted in connection to a robbery.
Saturday around 11:40 a.m. dispatch received a call that a robbery had occurred at a Lake City Bank in Pierceton.
An undisclosed amount of money was taken and police were not able to locate the perpetrator
On Tuesday, Pierceton Police and Warsaw Police received a tip about the suspect.
Officers responded to the tip and found Jeffery Lee Brewer, 34, staying in a Holiday Inn Express in Warsaw.
Once officials confirmed Brewer was in the room, they had several conversations with him before he turned himself in on Tuesday morning.
Pierceton Police Chief Tim Sammons confirmed that Brewer cooperated with police and confessed to the bank robbery.
“This case is an example of the police cooperation between the Warsaw Police Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and Pierceton Police, that lead to the arrest at the hotel” Sammons said. “Thank you to the public for the tips the police received during the investigation, we appreciate their help.”
Brewer’s preliminary bond was set at $10, 250.
