Suspicious vehicle complaint leads to two arrests on felony Possession of Meth
Marshall County Jail: Brian R. Schafer, Emily A. Bryce MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports deputies responded to a residence in the 1800 block of Rose Road around 9:32 p.m., on April 2, regarding a suspicious vehicle.
Upon arrival, deputies began investigating by having Marshall County K9 Bear conduct an open-air sniff around the vehicle.
The report states Bear alerted investigators to the presence of narcotic odor.
Authorities then conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle.
Deputies located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
The vehicle's occupants were identified as 39-year-old Brian R. Schafer, of Lakeville, Ind., and 28-year-old Emily A. Bryce, of Mishawaka.
The two were subsequently arrested and taken to Marshall County Jail.
Schafer and Bryce are each charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony, Possession of Hypodermic Syringe or Needle, a Level 6 Felony, Possession of Schedule I, II, III, IV, V - Class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Trespass - Class A Misdemeanor, Criminal Mischief - Class B Misdemeanor, Possession of Paraphernalia - Class C Misdemeanor.
Schafer and Bryce were both assigned court dates and issued bonds of $2,000.
