Teen sentenced for attempted murder in Central Park shooting

MISHAWAKA, Ind. --One of the teens charged in connection with the shooting that killed Vincenzo Trozzy at Central Park in Mishawaka has been sentenced. 

Allen, 19, pleaded guilty to attempted robbery resulting in serious bodily injury as part of a plea agreement. The other charges, murder and attempted murder, were dismissed.

Allen was sentenced to 20 years in prison with credit for 637 days served. Ten years of the sentence was suspended. He will be on probation for 7 years and must serve four of the years with Saint Joseph County Community Corrections.

The other teen charged in the case, Tayshawn Malczynski, was found guilty of attempted murder by a jury but a mistrial was declared on the other charges against him. In August, Malczynski pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and will be sentenced on October 25.
