SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A teenage male was shot in the 1700 block of Fassnacht Avenue, according to South Bend Police.
SBPD says the call came in around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday night when two unknown vehicles drove by and started shooting.
The 12-year-old victim was at a gathering lighting fireworks and was struck by gunfire in the abdomen.
Police said the victim's injuries were non-life threatening. He was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment.

This makes for the second teenager shot on Independence Day. A 13-year-old was also shot in Elkhart on Thursday morning.
There are no suspects at this time.
