The Bald and the Beautiful fundraiser kicks off at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Bald and the Beautiful event to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, and Memorial Hospital, kicked off Wednesday at Notre Dame.

The event raises money for pediatric cancer both locally and nationally.

The event started in 2008 when Notre Dame student Sam Marx lost his battle with cancer.

Last year 1600 people participated.

Students participating are either getting their heads shaved or are getting at least 8-inches cut off.

The event will go on Wednesday until 10, then will go from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday.

Friday’s donation times are between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
