The city of Buchanan under boil order until Wednesday

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - The city of Buchanan is currently under a boil order until at least Wednesday following a fire hydrant isolation valve replacement.

The main water was shut down at 9 pm on Sunday from the following areas: Front Street from Oak Street to Main Street, Oak Street from Charles Court to Third Street and Dewey Street and Dewey Street from Moccasin Street to Oak Street.

Once the water is restored, the area is subject to a boil order until two clear bacteriological tests are collected and analyzed. The earliest this will happen is Wednesday, but the boil order could be extended if the tests fail.

Any water residents plan on using water for cooking or drinking must boil the water for the area.
