The Humane Society of St. Joseph County has a reminder for Easter

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - With Easter almost here, The Humane Society of St. Joseph County would like to remind people that real rabbits are not Easter presents, but plush rabbits are.

The Humane Society reiterates that rabbits are living creatures that live 10 or more years and should be spayed or neutered as well as taken to the vet for annual visits just like dogs and cats.

If you have children who would love a rabbit, but you're not up for the commitment, consider "adopting" an Easter Bunny plush toy from the Humane Society.

All proceeds from these bunnies will help purchase much needed supplies for kitten season.

You have the options of large mystery eggs that include a large lop plush and adoption certificate for $20.00 and small mini hops for $5.00, according to their Facebook post.

The Humane Society of St. Joseph County's lobby is open Monday through Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. so you can "adopt" your Easter Bunny while supplies last and stop by between the hours of 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. to view our adoptable cats and dogs.

The Humane Society of St. Joseph County is located at 2506 Grape Rd. in Mishawaka.
