BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- ABC57's Brian Conybeare recently sat down with a local mother who moved herself and her children across the state line from Indiana to Michigan solely because of transgender laws in the Hoosier state.

Senate Bill 480 was approved in 2023 and, after a brief legal battle, took effect back in March. The bill bans doctors from helping minors go through sex change treatments … exactly what her teenage son is doing.
