SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Third annual Ray Comer pickleball classic was held today at Boehm Park to honor Ray Comer's contributions to pickleball in South Bend. Ray comer was a former athletic director and organized pickleball events even dubbed as the Founding Father of Pickleball in Michiana.
Tons of people came out to honor him by playing pickleball. The tournament is typically held in June or July is way to remember and celebrate his legacy. Pickleball was initially for older adults but has grown to include all age groups and emphasizing exercise and social interaction. The event fosters new friendships and partnerships within the pickleball community.
