Three arrested in Elkhart after violent fight

Three men were arrested after an argument escalated into a physical altercation early Sunday morning. 

At approximately 2:06 a.m., officers from the Elkhart Police Department were dispatched to the 1209 Georgia Blvd. in regards to a fight between several subjects. 

Witnesses told police 26-year-old Cameron Mendez and a female victim were in a verbal argument when the situation escalated and Mendez allegedly choked the female victim. 

According to police, a male victim attempted to separate Mendez and the female victim and he was allegedly knocked unconscious by Jordan Alvarez.

The male victim says he woke up to being beaten by Mendez, Jordan and Tyler Alvarez. 

Officials report Tyler and Mendez fled the scene in a vehicle and struck the female victim with the 2006-model Dodge. 

Jordan allegedly fled the scene as well but was later arrested on Bradley Court. 

Mendez and Tyler were arrested after returning to the scene. 

Police say the female victim was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of injuries. 

Mendez was charged with domestic battery causing serious bodily  injury and battery causing moderate bodily injury.

Tyler Alvarez was charged with criminal recklessness with a vehicle, battery causing moderate bodily injury and resisting law enforcement.

Jordan Alvarez was charged with battery causing moderate bodily injury.
