Notre Dame men's basketball returned to action on Thursday night, hosting Chicago State at Purcell Pavilion.
With head coach Mike Brey just 10 wins away from passing Digger Phelps as the school's all-time winningest coach, the Irish got him one step closer with a 105-66 victory.
TJ Gibbs led the Irish with a career night, scoring 23 points. DJ Harvey also poured in a new career-best with 16. Matt Farrell tallied 18 points and Bonzie Colson nearly clinched a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Notre Dame has now won three consecutive games to begin the season, and can begin packing for paradise. The Irish begin the Maui Invitational next week, starting Monday against Chaminade.
