Traffic stop leads to discovery of weapons in Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. – Two teenagers were detained and another was arrested after police discovered numerous weapons in a vehicle they were in on Monday, the Goshen Police Department announced.

On May 9, officers detained a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old after finding three handguns and a rifle in their vehicle, according to reports.

One of the handguns had an extended magazine with 24 rounds of ammunition.

The two other handguns found were considered to be loaded.

Officers found an AR-15 rifle in the trunk. The rifle held 28 rounds of ammunition.

They also found bottles of alcohol and suspected marijuana in the vehicle, according to reports.

A 19-year-old who was with the two juveniles was arrested on the charges of possession of a handgun and possession of marijuana and alcohol.

This is the second traffic stop in a matter of weeks where police found multiple handguns in connection with juveniles and young adults, Goshen police said.
