Two accused of theft at Walmart in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. – Two people were arrested for allegedly stealing items from a Walmart on C.R. 6 on Tuesday, the Elkhart Police Department reported.

At 3:41 p.m., an officer was called to the store for a shoplifting report. Dispatch reported that a man and woman had been detained inside.

A loss prevention officer said he was watching surveillance cameraa at 3:24 p.m. when he noticed the man and woman at the self-scan. The subject scanned and paid for some items but failed to scan and pay for all the other items in her cart, according to reports.

The man and woman passed the point of sale where they were then stopped by the loss prevention officer.

The woman, identified as 21-year-old Kiara Rencher of Chicago, was arrested for theft.

The man, identified as 22-year-old Dangelo Eggleston of Elkhart, was arrested for theft.
