Two arrested in Starke County following battery and strangulation allegations
ABC 57 STARKE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police reports on June 30, 2025, their Criminal Investigations Bureau was contacted by the Starke County Sheriff’s Department regarding an alleged incident of battery and strangulation from June 28, 2025.
The Starke County Prosecutor's Office asked for the appointment of a special prosecutor due to a potential conflict of interest.
The case was subsequently assigned to the Howard County Prosecutor’s Office.
The suspects, 45-year-old Robert W. Huff and 39-year-old Kari A. Huff, were arrested on March 11 in a coordinated effort between ISP and the special prosecutor.
The Huffs were taken to Starke County Jail.
Robert was preliminarily charged with Strangulation, a Level 6 Felony, Domestic Battery, a Level 6 Felony, and Neglect of a Dependent, a Level 6 Felony.
Kari was preliminarily charged with Domestic Battery, a Level 6 Felony, and Neglect of a Dependent, a Level 6 Felony.
