Two arrested on drug charges after chase involving 3 counties, 9 police agencies

Two suspects were arrested on drug charges after allegedly leading nine police agencies on a pursuit through three counties early Saturday morning, according to the La Grange Police Department.

An officer with the La Grange Police Department attempted to stop a GMC Jimmy for a traffic infraction at approximately 4:45 a.m. on June 24.

The driver of the GMC did not stop and fled south into Noble County, police said.

Officers with the Ligonier Police Department and Noble County Sheriff’s Department deployed stop sticks to deflate the vehicle's tires.

The vehicle continued south into Whitley County, police said.

Officers with the Churubusco Police Department and Whitley County Sheriff’s Department also deployed stop sticks and all four tires of the GMC were deflated.

The vehicle, driving on the rims, continued south and was forced off the roadway in Columbia City, police said.

The vehicle ended up in a yard and the driver surrendered, according to police.

The driver was identified as 36-year-old Curt Glass of Kendallville and his female passenger was identified as 31-year-old Autumn Morphew, according to police.

They were both taken into custody and transported to the La Grange County Jail.

Glass is facing preliminary charges of:

  • Dealing in methamphetamine
  • Possession of methamphetamine over 20 grams
  • Resisting with a motor vehicle
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Possession of a legend drug
  • Dealing in marijuana
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of paraphernalia
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of hypodermic needle
  • Maintaining a common nuisance
  • Theft of a firearm
  • Attempt to destroy evidence

Morphew is facing preliminary charges of:

  • Dealing in methamphetamine
  • Possession of methamphetamine over 20 grams
  • Resisting with a motor vehicle
  • Possession of cocaine
  • Possession of a legend drug
  • Dealing in marijuana
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of paraphernalia
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Possession of hypodermic needle
  • Visiting a common nuisance
  • Attempt to destroy evidence
