Two arrested on meth charges, one child removed from home

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. - The Marshall County Drug Task Force reports on Wednesday, May 29, they, with assistance from Net43, Lapaz Police, Marshall County Police, Plymouth Police, and Indiana State Police, executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Hudson Street in Lapaz.

Authorities say during the search, officers recovered evidence of suspected methamphetamine and methamphetamine use within the home, along with a firearm.

A child was also found and removed from the home by the Indiana Department of Child Services.

38-year-old Kathleen Burkett of Lapaz was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, and Neglect of a Dependent.

Burkett was taken to the Marshall County Jail and given a $1,500 cash bond.

53-year-old Michael Heims of Lapaz was also arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, and Neglect of a Dependent.

Heims was taken to the Marshall County Jail and given a $1,500 cash bond.
