Two killed in early morning crash on I-465
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Two people from Indianapolis were thrown from their vehicle and killed in a crash on I-465 early Saturday morning.
Indiana State Police say around 5:30 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the single-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes near the 2.9 mile marker, advised by a witness that a Chevy pickup truck flipped multiple times before coming to a rest.
According to officials, two individuals were ejected from that truck during the crash, leaving the male victim dead on the scene and the female victim critically injured.
The woman was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died.
ISP determined the truck drove onto the grassy median and the driver overcorrected, causing the truck to roll over several times.
Neither victim was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
