SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A man has been charged for a murder that took place at a hotel in South Bend Saturday night.
The St. Joseph County Prosecutors Office has charged 30-year-old Antoine Jefferson for the murder of Everett Lawrence Harper, a 65-year-old man from South Bend.
Police were called to the Knights Inn on the 3000 block of Lincoln Way West yesterday afternoon after multiple gunshots were heard and reported.
When police arrived on the scene they found Harper dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
Officials say they arrested a 31-year-old man, Adrian Evans later Saturday night in connection with this investigation and he was booked into the St. Joseph County Jail on suspicion of Assisting a Criminal.
Antoine Jefferson was arrested Sunday afternoon shortly after an arrest warrant was issued for him.
Authorities say charges have not been filed against Evans at this time but Jefferson will be arraigned Monday afternoon on the charges of Murder.
