Notre Dame Assistant Coaches Niele Ivey and Beth Cunningham have experienced the Final Four not only as members of the coaching staff but also as players.
Cunningham helped lead the Irish to the Final Four in 1997 and Ivey was an All-American point guard that led Notre Dame to its only national championship in 2001. She has 1430 career points.
Ivey has been an assistant coach for Muffet McGraw for 11 seasons. Having been there before, Ivey can relate to the emotions these players are feeling now.
