Two of three suspects arrested for January homicide

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department has two out of three suspects in custody in connection with the Jan. 25 homicide of 48-year-old Jiffery Jones.

Police responded to the 700 block of N. Brookfield Street on the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, authorities found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation led to the suspects being identified as 29-year-old Chavez Norwood of Chicago, 32-year-old Tyree Bonds of South Bend, and 26-year-old Daishawn Rowan of Chicago.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office charged the three men with Murder.

Norwood and Bonds are in custody while Rowan remains at large.

SBPD is actively searching for Rowan.

He is believed to be in the Chicagoland area and is considered armed and dangerous.
