UPDATE: Police release names of double drowning victims in Granger

ST. JOSEPH CO., Ind. -- We now know the names of two people found at the bottom of a Granger family's swimming pool.

55-year-old David Prentkowski and his 18-month-old grandchild, Charlotte Chelminiac both died.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Glen Arbor Court.

According to police, her family tried CPR on the 18-month-old girl before transporting her to the hospital where she later died. Her grandfather passed away at the scene.

Officers said they were told that the grandfather took the girl on a walk while his wife cooked dinner. After noticing they did not come back, she sent her son to search for them. The son found the two at the bottom of the pool and jumped in with a friend to try to save them.

Little Charlotte's autopsy showed that she drowned. Her grandpa's autopsy is scheduled for Friday afternoon. We will bring you those results as soon as they are available.

Foul play is not suspected at this time.
