SOUTH BEND, Ind. - While Upskill South Bend has already been helping people get important job certification for a year now, its new Climate Action program is geared towards those looking to make headway in the climate industry.
The program will offer entry-level training for climate-focused professionals who are looking to take the Solar PV associate exam. Passing that exam allows people to maintain, sell, design and install solar systems.
One of the driving points of Upskill SB’s new program is its price tag.
"You can come to the city of South Bend, the Upskill SB program will pay for 100% of the certification costs and at minimum 50% of the training cost needed for the certification," said Madi Rogers, Director of Civic Innovation for the Department of Innovation and Technology.
Anyone in need of additional financial assistance can apply for more aid.
Applicants who run into technology roadblocks, from lack of resources to no working Wi-Fi, can also participate in a lending program to help with the process.
