Volunteers needed for Bike the Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The annual Bike the Bend event in South Bend is requesting volunteer help. The bike ride is scheduled for June 14 from 6:30 a.m. through 11:30 a.m. 

The event is a 30 mile bike ride that winds through the South Bend area, but event organizers say they need help to make sure it goes off without a hitch. Volunteer duties include neighborhood outreach, publicity and route volunteers.

Be part of the Bike the Bend celebration!!  Bike the Bend needs YOU!  Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

Publicity - spreading the word in advance of the event by distributing flyers, etc.

Neighborhood Outreach - deliver notices to our neighbors along the route - Week before the event.

Route Volunteers - Set-up and tear down signs/barricades before and after the ride.

Point The Way Route Guides  --  Help riders stay on the route by pointing out turns and intersections as riders approach during the ride.

SAG Hospitality - Riders stop for water and food at each of our SAGs.  Welcome them, answer questions, help them check their progress on the "You are here" maps.

Packet Pickup and Registration  - help with T-shirts and registration at Bike the Bend Ride headquarters."
