SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Heroic actions and quick thinking saved 13 ducklings.
Some Wal-Mart employees at the Ireland Road location noticed that some ducklings had fallen into a storm drain. The mother was in a nearby retention pond but could do nothing to help them. The employees contacted the South Bend Fire Department - who responded quickly.
They were able to remove the cover of the storm drains and retrieve all of the ducklings - 13 in total! It was a happy ending as all of the ducklings were safely reunited with their mom.
