Warmest day of the year so far followed by potential severe storms tonight

NOW: Warmest day of the year so far followed by potential severe storms tonight

Foggy and muggy conditions await us out the door. Today will likely be the warmest and most humid day of the year so far with high temperatures pushing towards 90F. While most of Michiana will not hit 90, the combined heat index may make temperatures feel closer to the low 90s this afternoon. With summer-like temperatures comes summer-like storm chances later tonight. A moderate chance of severe weather emerges tonight from 8 PM until midnight with all threats (large hail, damaging wind, tornadoes) possible amidst scattered thunderstorms. Friday stays quiet during the first half of the day; partly cloudy skies hang overhead and high temperatures reside in the mid 80s. Another low chance for severe weather is possible Friday evening, but that event is highly conditional on how tonight turns out. Saturday and Sunday are sunny but cooler, dropping to the 70s and 60s by the end of the weekend.

Today: Evening thunderstorms. High 88.

Tonight: Thunderstorms. Low 62.

Friday: Partly cloudy. High 86.

Saturday: Partly cloudy. High 70.
