INDIANAPOLIS. -- The Warsaw Tigers Girl's Basketball Team took the court down at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis this evening, taking on Lawerence North for the Class 4A State Championship.
A victory would have marked the third state championship for the tigers in their history, and the first since 1978.
Unfortunately for the tigers, they would come up short tonight, losing 65-59.
"This is Indiana, right? That's a great basketball team that never quit. We just have weathered storms all season long, adversity challenges, and these girls just continue to answer the call," stated Lawerence North Head Coach Stephen Thomas.
Despite the disappointing end, the tigers still had an amazing season, ending at a strong 26-2 on the year.
