Today, July 17, Indiana State Trooper Sgt. Justin Heflin was released from Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He was shot July 10 after law enforcement officials were sent on a multi-state chase over an alleged stolen vehicle.
The suspect, Kevin Ward Meyers, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
