Weather doesn't win against fans

NOTRE DAME - Notre Dame Stadium was evacuated not once, but twice on Saturday during the game against South Florida. The season opener stretched to an almost six hour event, but Fighting Irish Fans said they'll stick it out no matter how long the wait.

The first evacuation happened after halftime due to severe weather. After a two hour and ten minutes delay the third quarter resumed. Then the weather came back for round two. This time with just 4:21 left in the fourth quarter.

Fans still came back, even a second time, to watch their blue and gold team fight until the end.

Notre Dame lost to USF with a final score of 23-20.
