Weather impacts day two of the Four Winds Invitational
SOUTH BEND, Ind – Players impacted by inconsistent weather in day two of the Four Winds Invitational.
Performance is the key word in round two, as the weather has made its presence known on the course. As a competitor, impactful weather is not something you want to experience, when you’re competing on the sixth toughest private course in Indiana.
Round two started with a 7:30 tee time and since the start, it was an uphill battle for 144 players.
The wind, rain, the sun coming and going, all forcing players to make changes to their approach, as they were completely different from day one, where there was more consistency.
Because of the challenge, both players and spectators provided their perspectives on the course conditions.
“I think the weather on the second day, certainly it’s been windier. This morning it was a little calmer but the wind seemed to pick up as the play continues on during the day,” said spectator Eric Brenner.
“Well, this morning it was a little bit chilly so, the balls weren’t flying as much as they flew yesterday. So obviously you had to club up and it was just like a different course just because you had to use different clubs. For the most part it’s kind of windy today or this afternoon but I didn’t play this afternoon so I kind of got lucky with the weather,” said player Anita Uwadia.
Although round two was challenging, the current leader, Yan Liu, sits nine under par heading into the final round on Sunday,
Tee time is scheduled for 7:30 a.m.
