Starke County face-to-face with severe weather
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Looking at all these powdered sugar-dusted Paczki has meteorologist Oliver Moster thinking, when do we normally see our last dusting of snow in Michiana?
Historically, we won’t be done with flakes falling until the beginning of April. April 2nd is the average day where South Bend could see 0.1 inches of snow, with the absolute latest in the past 30 years being at the end of April 2019.
Now for more significant snowfall, an inch or more, typically happens closer to the middle of March.
While we are seeing this uncharacteristic warm up, this Fool’s Spring if you will, it is important to remember that in more cases than not, more snow falling in Michiana is not out of the question.
Of course, the storms tomorrow are top of mind, but when we do have that snow chance, make sure you’re staying updated using the ABC57 weather app.
