Woman cited for setting boyfriend's clothes on fire

LAPORTE, Ind. -- Wednesday evening, LaPorte Police responded to a home on Division Street for a civil matter.



When police arrived, they saw a fire on the front lawn and a large plastic bag sitting next to the fire.



A man was sitting on the front porch. He told police his girlfriend got mad, threw his clothes on the front lawn and set them on fire.



He was allowed to gather his belongings so he could leave.



When police spoke to the girlfriend, they said she appeared intoxicated. She allegedly admitted to setting her boyfriend's clothes on fire.



She was cited for a violation of the city's open burning ordinance and told to put out the fire.
