Workers caught off-guard in sudden Summit Club closure

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- We broke the news on Tuesday that the Summit Club on top of the Chase Tower was closing for good.

That closure, caught workers by surprise, they told ABC 57 News that they showed up for work, worked their shift, and in the end, they said they were told it was their last one.

On Wednesday, we have learned that local restaurant are stepping up, offering to interview those workers. Corndance, Tippecanoe Place, and Cafe Navarre are all offering interviews.

An e-mail to members of the Summit Club said the closure was unavoidable because of lack of membership.
