Young girl in Chicago bites finger of her attacker

CHICAGO — A young girl in Chicago fought off an attacker and is now sharing her survival story.

The young girl was attacked in a wooded area just outside her home.

She said when the man approached her, she quickly scrambled to the group so he couldn't pick her up. When he tried to cover her mouth, she bit his finger.

"I started fighting back because I knew there was no way I can get out of here if I panic and curl into a little ball. That will get me nowhere," said the girl. "I said if I have to do this, I have to do it alone. And I did."

Chicago police released a sketch of the man but so far do not have any suspects.
