SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Key Bank Foundation donated $240,000 on Thursday to support women's education and economic advancement.
The money will go to YWCA Northern Central Indiana and strengthen communities' initiative.
The initiative provides education and individualized support for abuse survivors and other women in the community who may be economically disenfranchised.
Kayevonne Parham. Self Sufficiency Advocate YWCA North Central Indiana, stated, "Helping them thrive. That's what this program is really all about. It is strengthening our community and just making the world around us very strong. We want to not only work with the women in shelter, but we want to ensure that when they exit the shelter that they are able to thrive."
Parham stated 86 percent of clients in the YWCA have reported steady progress on their personal goals.
