$1.6 million awarded for St. Joseph County road repairs

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – Indiana awarded St. Joseph County $1.6 million for road repairs throughout the area.

The following communities received state matching grants:

  • Lakeville:  $89, 992
  • Mishawaka: $975, 180
  • South Bend: $523,612
  • Osceola: $108,961

The funds can go towards road and bridge preservation, road construction, intersection improvements, guardrail replacements and signage.

Smaller municipalities must provide a 25% match in local funds. Larger communities must provide a 50% match. State law requires that 50% of the available matching funds be awarded annually to communities within counties with a population of 50,000 or fewer.
