17th annual Frosty Five Run invites runners and walkers to winter race
Elkhart Parks and Recreation ELKHART, Ind. -- The City of Elkhart Parks and Recreation Department is holding its 17th annual Frosty Five Run on Saturday, Feb. 14.
The Frosty Five Run invites runners and walkers of all ages to embrace the season and enjoy a fun, family-friendly winter race.
The race begins at 10 a.m. in Studebaker Park in Elkhart.
Participants can choose between a five-mile run or a 5K, making the Frosty Five welcoming to competitive runners, casual runners or walkers, and families alike.
Known for its lively atmosphere and unpredictable winter weather, the Frosty Five has seen everything from snow-covered courses to clear winter paths over history.
“Our focus is on creating an event that feels welcoming and enjoyable for everyone,” said Liz Stoutenour, City of Elkhart Parks & Recreation Event Coordinator. “Whether it’s someone’s first winter race or their seventeenth Frosty Five, we want participants to leave feeling proud, energized, and excited to come back next year.”
Registration is now open, and volunteers are needed.
A variety of volunteer opportunities are available, including setting up the event, managing parking, and cheering on participants along the route.
