19-year-old stabbed at Mishawaka Quality Inn Tuesday

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Mishawaka Police Department reports officers, along with members of the Mishawaka Fire Department, responded to the Quality Inn at 535 W. University Dr. around 3:43 p.m., Tuesday, regarding an alleged stabbing.

Police say when they arrived, they searched the hotel along with adjacent hotels and properties and found no victims.

The report states a little while later, a local hospital called about a 19-year-old South Bend woman who was dropped off at the emergency room with a stab wound on her back.

The injuries were non-life-threatening and there is no danger to the community as police believe this to be an isolated incident.

The location of the stabbing was confirmed to have happened in a room at the Quality Inn.

The case remains under investigation.
