25-year-old South Bend man sentenced to prison for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
Armon Shannon SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana announced 25-year-old Armon Shannon, of South Bend, was sentenced to prison after being found guilty of Being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm on Nov. 14.
He was found guilty following a two-day jury trial.
Shannon was sentenced to 6 years and 8 months in prison followed by 2 years of supervised release.
Case documents reveal Shannon ran away from police in the parking lot of a gas station in South Bend.
Authorities say they caught up to him and found a loaded handgun on the ground along the path Shannon had run from them.
Documents reveal Shannon has multiple prior felony convictions, including two federal convictions for Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
His prior convictions prohibit him from possessing the firearm in this case.
